CTA SCOTLAND GROUP
CTA Scotland aims to focus on cinema and theatre buildings north of the border - recording and monitoring their status, providing archive information and advice to researchers and interested parties, and engaging in constructive dialogue with developers, local authority planning departments and Historic Scotland about proposed alterations to buildings with a history of entertainment use.
We also maintain the Scottish Cinemas Database - a fully searchable resource with information on around 1,000 cinemas, past, present and future.
We are now working with Historic Scotland to add detail to their existing listing descriptions, and to advise on possibilities for listing and regrading already listed cinema buildings.
